About Us

Dorking Solar Group Ltd is a non-political, not-for-profit, social benefit society, part of the wider 'Transition Towns' network.

We were established in 2015 to take real action in the race against climate change and air quality pollution and environmental harm to our planet.

Over the past few years we have been raising awareness about the threats of global warming, air emissions, and measures that can be taken to improve our environment. We have equally served as facilitator, advisor and implementer on solar PV projects and electric vehicle (EV) charging points in the community.

Specifically we:

• Promote local events and community think-tank sessions

• Facilitate renewable energy take-up (eg. electric vehicle charging points, solar PV panels, LED lighting, etc) via coordination between business owners, technology suppliers, installers, residents and the council

• Promote electric vehicles (EV) and install electric vehicle charge points

• Organise community share offers for community energy projects
